Many Months' Update

We were so happy to see the kids when they got back from Maine in August!  We had a few days of fun before they started back to school.

Marina had a surprise when she got home - a new bed!  It is the perfect bed for a little princess.  Some nights she likes to close the curtains and cuddle in with a book.

For the Festival's 50th anniversary, Ryan did an exhibit at Frontier Homestead Museum.  There were also some new things that the kids needed to check out.

There were costumes and a stage so the kids could try out their thespian skills.

Armed with very cute back-to-school haircuts, Lincoln and Marina head off to the first day of school.
First day of first grade and fourth grade

We just had our first meeting with the kids' teachers (sorry it has been so long since I posted!), and both kids are doing great.  Lincoln is reading beyond a sixth grade level, and Marina has exceeded every benchmark for her grade.  She is even reading chapter books now, even if it takes us a while to get through them.

We also celebrated both birthdays - a couple of times.  In Cedar City, we all went to Ninja - Japanese Hibachi.  The kids love that, especially the towers of flames.

We also celebrated in Mountain Green with the Pauls, and with all the cousins in Layton.

We also went hiking with the Terry cousins.  It was hot, but cold treats at the end made it all OK.
Ryan is serving as president of the Utah Museums Association, and he is trying to visit all the museums in Utah while he is president.  We made one of the visits as a family - to the Hill Air Force Base airplane museum.  We could not believe how many planes there are there!

Ryan's sister Melissa has started painting faces, and we all volunteered to be practiced on.  She is amazing!

Summer Fun

The kids are off for another summer adventure in Maine, but before they left, we had a great weekend with our families.

Lincoln wanted a closer look at the goose.  He said that he needed a closer look, just like his grandpa Paul would do.

All the Terry cousins - getting them to all look at the camera proved to be impossible, but they are all in the shot.

Here are a couple of cute videos.  Parental warning: this video contains material that some people will find irritating and/or needlessly loud.  But what else can kids to in a tunnel?
