First Photos from Peter Pan

Here is Lincoln in his costume as a lost boy.  I will get some photos of the dress rehearsal later this week, I think.

Musical Talents

Lincoln is in his school choir, and they had their performances and concert last week.  They performed for other schools, their own school, and then for parents and family.  The theme was the music of movies, so they sang songs from lots of the kids favorite films.  Lincoln did a great job - he sings with such enthusiasm!

Lincoln also had his piano recital this week.  He played a solo and a duet, and he did a great job!  Here are a couple short clips.

Marina recently inherited an iPod (the kind that plays music, not games), and she has loved listening to audio books and her favorite songs on headphones.  Here she is singing along with the princesses - A Whole New World from Aladdin, in this case.  She asked me if she sounded just like Jasmine.  I said, "of course."  That is Lincoln laughing in the background, but she was undaunted.

Lincoln's play, Peter Pan, is this week, so I will post photos as soon as we get them.

Catching Up

Here are a bunch of photos from what we have been up to for the last month.  The biggest news is that we are in our new house!  We have painted and fixed up the old house, so it is ready for a renter to move in.  We will be unpacking boxes for a while, but you can at least see the work in progress.  This month we had parent teacher conferences, a trip to Florida (for me), and lots of work in moving house.

Hat Day 2012

For the 100th day of school, Marina made a project with 100 macaroni pieces.

Lincoln's school essay.  He is doing great at school, especially in math, science, and reading.

What a beautiful ballerina

One never outgrows this room!

Hide and seek where they all hide together.  Sounds like fun to me!

Downtown Disney is sure a lot of fun!

Welcome to Hogwarts, Orlando

Hogsmeade with butter beer

I ran in to the Lorax at Universal Studios, who is my favorite ever since Lincoln played him in Seussical!

What a cool place.  Well, magical really.

I also found a little time to visit the beach.

Here is the living room of our new house.

Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011 was a great one.  The kids got to celebrate 'early Christmas' with Amy, who was able to come to  Cedar City to visit.  Then, we went to Salt Lake to celebrate the holidays with grandmas, grandpas, cousins, and more!

One of Marina's new favorite things to do is borrow the camera to take her own pictures of events.  Here are some of her photos.

Chritmas morning was a lot of fun.  I snapped this photo as soon as Lincoln had sat down with his presents (his presents included this bike).  In this photo, he had not yet noticed the bike he had to walk around in order to get his stocking.  We had to point the bike out to get him to notice it.  Alas, I did not get a photo of that moment.

Marina got a Hello Kitty clock

Marina also got a new doll named Victoria and matching outfits for Victoria and Marina.

The kids also spent time with their cousins Will and Petra.  Marina and Petra play so cute together!

Aunt Melissa painted their faces.  A snow fairy and the abominable snowman!

Lincoln and Marina LOVE spending time with all their cousins.  The rest of the photos are of fun with their cousins.

We have a couple of pieces of big news.  Lincoln was cast in a children's production of Peter Pan.  He is Nibs, one of the Lost Boys.  The performances will be then end of March, and he will be busy with rehearsals until then.  Check back here for photos and video as it comes together.

We also have bought a new house.  It is in the same neighborhood, so the kids won't have to change schools.  We will be moving in the next couple of weeks, and I will post photos of the new house as soon as we are settled, or at least somewhat settled.
