Mississippi (Marina)

On Friday, Marina decided her name was Mississippi.  She kept saying Mississippi wants this or that.  When we asked her who Mississippi was, she said, "It's me!"  This is in addition to her other nicknames of pookafish, sis and babe.  Marina has started drawing faces (on her magnadoodle), and one of her pictures is here.  

Marina's favorite things that she did this week were: 

-made cinnamon muffins

-played at the Cullers' (neighbors)

-made Valentines cookies

-played with her friend clarissa

-got to go to Lincoln's school and read a book.

-went to the store

-played tick tock with Daddy

-got to go to Sunbeams class at church

-watched Muppet WIzard of Oz

Here is the list of books that Lincoln has read so far this year.  He has read the most of anyone in the house!  Some of those are even chapter books.  

Lincoln auditioned for a play last week.  This newspaper article talks about the auditions, and Lincoln is the one in the yellow shirt.  For his audition, he used the quote from Macbeth, "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow . . . "  He is one of the youngest kids in the play.  He got a role - one of the king's men in Once Upon a Mattress.  Lincoln now has rehearsal three times a week.  Each rehearsal they learn songs and moves.  Lincoln's line in the play is, "Why don't you ask her yourself?"

This week at school, it was take your family to school week.  Lincoln got to have donuts with dad on Friday morning.  He also showed his sister around school this week.  Marina wanted to read a book at Lincoln's school, so Lincoln took her to his classroom and read her a book.

2-1-09 Lincoln

This week was the 100th day of school.  Lincoln took 100 jelly beans to put on a poster.  That they he also got 100 treats.  On Saturday, he went to his friend Ethan's baptism and then had fun playing at his house.  This week, Lincoln read Day of the Dragon King, a Jack and Annie book.  Lincoln and his sister made a giant bed on the couch this week.  They piled every pillow and blanket they could find and then jumped in them.  Lincoln also 'swam' in them.  They had a great time!

2-1-09 Marina

This week Marina got to go the store with Kami.  She also got to make chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles.  Marina went to the doctor this week because she had a ear infection.  Marina says that she likes to play by herself.  Her favorite thing to do is give tea to her toys.  She does that in the bath - the water is tea, and the bubbles are pie.  Marina loves to take baths.  She wants one every day.

Marina loves to go to Sunbeams, her class at church, and today they talked about dads.
