We're Off to See the Wizard . . .

Lincoln and Marina saw the play The Wizard of Oz last week.  Lincoln saw it with his class, but wanted to go again with his friends Mackenzie and Savannah.  Marina loves the movie, and was very excited to "go see Dorothy."  (sounds like 'Dorofy!")  The entire morning before the play, Marina made pictures for each one of the characters.  She even made one for the witch.  She kept saying, "The witch is scary, but she doesn't scare me!"  At the play, as soon as Dorothy walked on the stage, Marina yelled, "Hi Dorothy!"   (So much for our talk about theater etiquette!)  Lincoln, of course, watched the play attentively, and enjoyed it.  Marina was living the play with them.  When the wicked witch was defeated, Marina asked, "Did we win?"  When Dorothy was sad, Marina said, "She needs her friends."  Lincoln's favorite character was the lion, and he thought the tin man's costume was the best because he looked like a real tin man.  Marina liked Dorothy and the Tin Man the best.  She likes the song Over the Rainbow and when the scarecrow danced.  When it was over, and the actors left the stage, Marina promptly burst into tears, because she wanted to invite them over to our house.  Lincoln  said of the play as we were leaving, "Cooked to perfection!"

Now, Marina has a message for Dorothy -  "Dorothy, I love you.  I love you too."  Marina is now reenacting the tin man, lion, and scarecrow getting their heart, courage, and brains.  This has been a regular occurrence for the last week.

Easter for Lincoln

Lincoln and his dad spent the week on their own and then joined the family in Salt Lake for Easter.  Lincoln had and Easter egg hunt with Marina and his cousin Will.  Lincoln's eggs were hid in the hardest spots, but he found every single one!  Lincoln also painted his face as a tiger and prowled the house for a while.  Then, his grandpa, the cat, joined in.  What fun!  Lincoln and Marina also got gardening supplies from Bunker and Duckie - they have talked of nothing but starting a garden as soon as we get back to Cedar City!  We will have to get a garden started soon.

Fun, Fun, Bunnies, and Fun

Marina spent the week in Salt Lake playing with her cousin will and helping take care of her brand-new cousin Petra.  Marina loves to have Baby Petra hold her finger, and Marina constantly gives updates about what the baby is doing at all times.  She is very helpful!  Marina got to go so many places, and have so much fun this week, we'll let the pictures tell the story.  Here is what the pictures are of:

*Marina's water color project, and the water color that she got all over her face with it
*Marina and Grandpa Paul painted cat faces on themselves and then wanted a picture with Hope, the dog.
*Marina seeing the dinosaurs at the Utah Museum of Natural History.  She also saw dinosaurs at the Ogden Dinosaur Park this week.  She insisted on getting out of her stroller at one point so she could go tickle a dinosaur.  Then she walked up to the dinosaur sculpture and gave the brontosaurus' tail a tickle.
*This is the Easter bunny that Marina made at Grandma Valene's house
*The next photos are of Marina's easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Paul's house.
*Marina with one of her dinosaur friends
*Marina at the "Toadally Frogs" exhibit in Salt Lake
*Marina and her cousin Will.
*Marina at the playground.
What a week!
